What are dermal fillers?
Demand for dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Juvederm™ and Perlane® is exploding and it’s no wonder given dermal fillers’ history of dramatic results. But what exactly are dermal fillers? Dermal fillers or wrinkle fillers, are injectable substances composed of fat, collagen or hyaluronic acid that are used to “fill-in” deep lines and creases. Dermal fillers can also address other areas impacted by a loss of volume such as thin or thinning lips, hollow cheeks, and hollowness around the eyes. The use of dermal fillers allows for non-surgical facial contouring and facial sculpting.
